One rainy day in Rapanui which is also known as Easter Island we decided to go scuba diving. Our dad went first to see what it was like and after he approved we went. It was very cold but it was worth it. Our instructor gave us a lesson on how to use the equipment. It was only Neil and I because our dad had already gone and my mom did not want to be colder than she already was. We got into the boat and we went out into the bay. We fell backwards into the water because the equipment was too heavy and we did not want to go in face first. Underwater was a whole new world the coral was in the shape of trees; it was like a forest with fish instead of wolves and bears. We saw puffer fish and parrot fish which I call the alien fish because of its splotches neon color. We also saw sea cucumbers which are animals that are the exact shape and size of a cucumber. We also saw a fish with two little horns and one black fish with lots of white spots. In the end it was very fun and one of the most amazing things I've ever done.

What a great thing to do! I would love to try scuba diving like you did! It sounds so much more interesting than seeing fish in an aquaruim.

I am SO JEALOUS! I'm not sure there's anything more calming and beautiful than an ocean reef - but I've never actually done it. Good on you for taking the plunge, Tim!
